Demographic Transition Model
Peru is in stage three of the Demographic Transition Model because of its population factors. For example, the birth rate is currently somewhat higher but it is decreasing, and the death rate is relatively low. The natural increase rate is 1.2 which is low as well. The total fertility rate is 2.15 and to sustain a country's population, the total fertility rate should be 2.1. Therefore, Peru has a steady fertility rate. There isn't an abundance of children in the country in terms of how much of the population they cover, so the population is more evenly distributed among all ages. Which also means that there are around the same amount of working age people as children which makes the dependency ratio relatively equal.
