Population Pyramid
In 1950, the population pyramid was wider at the bottom but very narrow at the top. There weren't very many children but not very many elderly people nor very many working age people. In 1975, Peru's population pyramid was a little narrower and the bottom was still wider than the rest of it, but it is narrower than it was in 1950. So, the population of children has decreased, but so has everything else. In 2000, the whole pyramid became more narrow so the total population of the country must have gone down. However, the the pyramid goes up higher than before, which means that the life expectancy has increased and people are living longer as medical technology has improved and there are more elderly people in the country. In 2050, the population is predicted to more evenly distributed through all of the ages. Because of medical advancements, people will live longer and the number of working age people will even out with the rest of the population and decrease the dependency ratio. In the year of 2099, the population pyramid will look even more evenly age distributed. The life expectancy will be even higher and people will live even longer because of even more medical advancements and better resources.
